Mount Wellington

From the pictures I have showed you in other blogs of our house, you saw the mountain that is in our back yard.  This mountain is Mount Wellington. It is a beautiful mountain and I love waking up to looking at it in the morning.  The mountain is 4,170 ft tall and was named after the Duke of Wellington.  Well since we constantly look at the mountain we decided to finally go up it.  It takes about 30 minutes to drive up it.  But on the way we decided to stop and take some pictures.  Here are a few views of the bay in Hobart.

We of course had to jump off of it and capture a picture.

Lindsay planking....we are going to be doing this a lot....so get used to it.  I wonder how many we can get in this trip....time to start keeping track.

Our first family picture.  I am so short compared to the rest of my family.  I feel like a dwarf sometimes.  Lindsay is 6'0", Caila is 6'4" and Jordan is 6'8"....and me....5'7".

So up the mountain we continued.  The drive is very curvy on the way up and on one side you have a rock wall and the other is a cliff.  So you go about 60km/hr up the mountain and really take your time.  We passed bikers on the way up and I give them a ton of props.  You should have seen their legs....very muscular.  We finally made it to the top and took in the scenery.  Have a look.

Lastly we walked up to what looked like a watch tower and the ladies and I got a good shot in of us.

The mountain is really cool and we are thinking with in the next month there will be snow on top of the mountain.  No worries though....snow doesn't fall on the ground in Hobart, so I don't have to worry about shoveling and the snow will be far enough away that I wont have to deal with it!
